Gift Lists

There should be a site where you can post your gift idea list, like a registry... but not have them pointing to a specific item unless you want it to. So, you could say "The Sims 3 Ambitions Expansion Pack" and point it to a shop with it in it, OR you could say something like "A non fiction book about social history" and let the gift buyer go and find something that fits that.

There should be a website where people can ask for volunteers for various charity or community events. It should be free. And comprehensive and well organised.

Any ideas to donate?

Homeless People

Help homeless people build eco houses that they're allowed to then live in and eventually own if they want to.

Want to do something different for Christmas? Go through this site, and donate money to different causes.

This is quite an interesting short article explaining seven things you should consider when creating a language. Which some of you might be doing.

I had an idea- a fandom comm meme. Everyone suggests comms, forums and sites that are somehow to do with fandom, and then goes through the list to see what they like the look of.

Travel doo-dads

Does anyone have those annoying little shampoo botts laying around your house? Do you have tiny bars of soap but don't know what to do with them?

Send them to Operation Bag of Home! Operation Bag of Home, which makes bags, stuffs them with small necessities, and sends them to troops overseas, is in desperate need of little things we can put in the bags, and hotel-sized shampoos and soaps would be awesome! No one said you had to buy new stuff...you can also get it for free! :D

Hey Everybody!

Hi everyone!

I wanted to let everyone know that a friend of mine and I are really trying to get a charity going that would do something neat for the troops. Our project, called Operation Bag of Home, has at its heart a pretty simple concept.

1. Make pocket-sized bags. These can be sewn, knitted, crocheted, or whatever!

2. Fill the bags with small items that the troops need like wet ones, toothpaste, powdered beverages, etc.

3. Ship bags to troops

It seems easy, but we are having a hard time getting contributions of the "little things," and thus there isn't a lot of motivation (unfortunately) to make the bags.

If this project sounds like something you want to help, we'd love to have you. The more people join, the less any one person has to do.
